Reinvent Heritage with Clay brings grandparents and grandkids to the same table, hands in the same earth. Long before writing, before screens, before words could cross a border, there was clay. Every civilization shaped it. It is the material humans have always reached for to make something that lasts.

What happens in a session

You learn where clay comes from, how it has carried culture across thousands of years, and how to shape it with your hands.

Then something quiet and powerful happens. The grandchild writes their grandparent’s name in the clay. The grandparent writes their grandchild’s name in their own native language. Two generations, two scripts, one piece of earth.

You shape it, decorate it, and make it your own, with tools and guidance provided throughout.

A grandparent’s hands know things a screen never will. In this session, they get to pass that on. No shared language required. Clay speaks for itself.

Who is this for

Grandparents and grandchildren of any age. Reinvent Heritage with Clay works especially well when a grandparent speaks a different language than their grandchild. The clay becomes the shared language. No artistic experience needed. If you can squeeze, pinch, and press, you can do this.

Why it matters

Most intergenerational time happens around meals or screens. This is different. When a grandparent and grandchild sit together shaping clay, something shifts. The grandparent remembers. The grandchild listens. Stories come out that no one has heard before. You feel it. You smell the wet earth. You shape it together. The things we make with our hands outlast the things we scroll past. And a grandparent’s story, shaped in clay, stays in the family.

What’s included

All materials included.
Your creation goes home with you the same day.
90 minutes of guided creative time together.
One session per family (grandparents, caregivers, and kids included).
Maximum 5 families per session.

48 hours notice required. Cancelled sessions receive a credit toward a future date, no refunds.
